Knowing Christ Jesus my Lord
(Php.3:7-21)
Introduction: It is important to put effort into work of faith but we must check ourselves whether we are led to the true purpose and true directions. Even though many believers go to church regularly, they just live feeling empty and lacking inner peace without knowing the true purpose and directions. People keep facing lots of hardships and suffering between the flash and the spirit simply because they do not get their prayers answered. After all, they have no choice but to fail and fall in unsound mysticism and humanism and end up living a spiritless life. Todays message points out that Paul proclaimed this kind of life has nothing to do with believers. Paul spent his whole life changing the fields. It is about time to personalize the covenant that Paul set in the center of his heart.
1.We must have confidence in the fact that Jesus is the Christ
(1)Every moment the satan tries to attack believers, we must check and enjoy every moment.(2Th.2:9-10)
(2)The reason why Jesus is the Christ
1)Because of the fundamental problems, human beings were not able to enjoy the true happiness(Ro.3:23, Jn.8:44)
2)There is only one who can solve the fundamental problem; the Christ (Jn.14:6, Mk.10:45, Ro.8:2, 1Jn.3:8, Heb.2:14-15)
(3)God gave the believers every blessing in the name of Jesus Christ(Mt.16:17-18, Eph.2:10, Col.2:3)
2.How much must we trust and experience the Christ?(personalization)
(1)The best knowledge - knowing Christ Jesus(v.7-8, Pr.1:7)
(2)The best desire - trusting in Christ Jesus(v.9)
(3)The best plan - Christ is holding of people who overcome the surroundings(v.12)
(4)The best interest - the prize for which God has called us heavenward(v.14)
(5)The best background - citizenship is in heaven(v.20)
(6)The best name - Christ, the name that puts everything under his control(v.21)
Conclusion: What do you live for? What are you doing? We must live for Him and for the salvation and world evangelization like what Paul did. Pauls life had enough influence to change the field. I bless all of you in the name of Jesus that you achieve powerful and purpose-driven lives(world evangelism) so that you could change the field.
